Ensemble audio components reflect an
aesthetic perfected over a range of proven designs that have found high
appreciation in the past. Ensemble's new range of audio products builds
on that foundation, combined with a tireless pursuit for new insights,
technological advances and refinements, and for the first time, all pieces
of equipment making up the complete range will be the same size and style.
The DICHRONO HI·DAC is both an upsampling digital to analog converter
(32-48 kHz to 96 kHz) and a preamp. Making use of the latest developments
in digital technology, the secret of its musicality, however, lies
in the handling of the data streams. The experience behind the previous,
highly appreciated DICHRONO DAC and DAC/PRE models has contributed
to a superb result, giving compact discs a new extra quality that
will make it even harder for new formats to set themselves sufficiently
apart unless they go multi-channel. The HI·DAC also incorporates
one line level input, making it into a mini-preamp for phono, tuner,
or other analog component. Volume adjustment is by remote or manual
control and so is digital phase - an often overlooked feature to
get reproduction as close to the original as possible.
